Yaron Brook on Dennis Miller Radio

Via Rational Jenn, Yaron Brook, President and Executive Director of the Ayn Rand Institute, got to speak on the Dennis Miller Show today for about 10 minutes. You can skip ahead to 1:14:00 in the program where Miller prefaces his talk with Brook with a quote from Rand about environmentalism from The Return of the Primitive: The Anti-Industrial Revolution. Then skip forward to 1:22:00 where the actual interview begins.

Thanks for the link. I was impressed with Yaron as always. But I was also impressed with Dennis Miller. He has more than just a casual interest in Ayn Rand and Objectivism. Also, I actually think Miller was right when he said that Iraq was part of a process to get to the type of war Yaron was talking about and that it would take another terrorist attack on American soil to possibly ignite the American spirit of war.

The disturbing thing is that it shouldn't have to take more victims for Bush and Congress to regain some semblance of spirit. I'm also skeptical if such an event were to occur that they would have some divine revelation and realize the error of their ways. As Dr. Brook pointed out before, in several of his articles in The Objective Standard, so long as they accept the morality of altruism and self-sacrifice they'll be hard pressed to stray from its demands.
